Suitable for puppies - Beef Tracheas are suitable from 12 weeks of age due to them not containing bone. These are a great chew to keep your puppy entertained and provide them with mental stimulation which in turn tires them out.

Collagen is also great for the digestive system as it helps to break down the proteins leading to better digestive health. Plus it helps to balance the stomach acidity levels.

How much Beef Trachea should I feed my dog?

Well that’s a good question, typically your dog can eat the whole trachea. However each dog is different, for example one of our dogs can eat the whole trachea and is fine but our other dog can only eat half, otherwise it causes her stomach to be upset due to the fat content. Every dog is different and you know your dog best. Typically with treats it is a guideline that you give no more than 10% of their daily food intake. On average a 25cm Trachea contains 500-550 calories each.

Are Pigs ears safe for dogs?

Pig Ears are made from cartilage and skin and contain very little muscle. This means they are a very chewy treat that will keep your dog chewing for a while. Also because they are 100% natural with no additives, they are a much safer alternative to traditional rawhide chews that can potentially contain nasties such as chemicals to clean and form the hide into various shapes that you may have seen in certain retailers.

Pigs ears do not contain rawhide meaning they are a super tasty healthy treat for your dog. Ours certainly love them A LOT!

Pigs ears are high in protein at 66%. Protein is full of amino acids meaning it’s great for their body and immunity health. Fat is 22.5% , therefore they should only be given as a treat not daily. You can also give your dog half of the ear by taking it off them once they’ve chewed enough. That being said, your dog's diet needs to contain around 20% fat so some fat is healthy for them. If you want a lower fat alternative then take a look at our cow ears.

Pig’s ears have great benefits such as -

  • Great for dental health - As they gnaw down on the ear it helps to remove plaque and tartar leading to a fresher breath and good oral health.

  • Grain & Gluten free - Great for dogs with allergies and sensitivities

  • High in protein - A supply of amino acids that help to build hair, skin, muscles, ligaments, tendons, nails and cartilage.

  • Single source protein - helps dogs with food sensitivities and allergies

  • Packed full of Omega 3 & iron - Great for their skin & coat and also helping with joints and mobility plus brain development.

  • Packed full of flavour - If your dog chews it will keep the same level of flavour for the whole duration that it lasts.

  • Long lasting - Great for keeping them occupied and busy while exercising their jaw.

When your dog gnaws down on the ear it doesn’t break into pieces lowering the risk of choking, actually as they gnaw down it helps to remove plaque and tartar off their teeth leading to fresh breath and good dental health.

Chicken feet for dogs and their health benefits

So as you may know we sell two types of chicken’s feet - Puffed and dehydrated, which both are perfectly safe for your dog to eat.

How are puffed chicken feet made?

These are air dried over time allowing them to keep their natural form and all their vitamins and minerals to make them super beneficial.

How are dehydrated chicken feet made?

Dehydrated chicken feet are put into a dehydrating machine and slowly dried out which also allows them to lock in their natural vitamins and minerals, just like the puffed feet.

Both chicken feet are super beneficial for your dogs and a tasty guilt free treat to give them.

Because both types of feet are dried slowly this means the bones within the feet become crumbly meaning there is less chance of them splintering.

Can my puppy have chicken’s feet?

Yes they can from 12 weeks old. If you are giving your puppy a new treat we recommend you slowly introduce them to make sure they have no reactions. All puppies are different so make sure you supervise them at all times and if you feel they can't manage it, wait until they are a little older.
